How hot is a double-walled stainless steel mug?
My husband just broke his second ceramic Coffee mug, so I’m going to get something unbreakable this time. I don’t want plastic, so have decided on stainless steel. We’ve previously used some single walled metal tankards, and found that with coffee or tea, the metal is so scorchingly hot that you can’t drink out of it till the drink is lukewarm. We were so disappointed we ended up giving them away.
I am interested in a double walled steel mug but have never used one. All the online reviews seem to talk about double walled steel Mugs keeping drinks cold. What about hot? Is it comfortable to drink out of right away like a Ceramic Mug would be? I want to make sure we won’t be burning our lips on scalding metal before I spend a lot of money on one.
Most SS mugs have a plastic rim (people don’t really like the taste of metal with their coffee) so you shouldn’t have to worry about burning your lips. I have 3 double-wall mugs and love them. They are warm on the outside, but not so much that you need burn cream. They are made like vacuum flask thermoses
