Environmentally Friendly Coffee Cups

What is more environmentally friendly, drinking Coffee from a disposable paper cup or a mug from a dishwasher?

Throwing away the cup is harmful, but so is running a dishwasher. In terms of energy consumption or carbon footprint, which is more efficient? (I guess we can assume that the dishwasher is a fully-loaded, average energy consumption machine)

it is not close, it is much better to use the dishwasher

the best thing is to use a mug that you just rinse out each day, you dont need to sterilize it each day, a simple rinse is sufficient
