Promotional Mugs

Promotional designer questions…?

I have some major things happening. I have a source that wants to hire me to design promotional items (like pens, Mugs, t-shirts etc)… some of these items will be in bulk and some would be customized (like similar t-shirts with different names on it). I have a ton of questions as far as how to handle this. For simple promotional items, I’m not so concerned about copyrighting my work because anyone can make these things online using the same fonts. Zazzle.com has been a good sorce so far for designing things- and the customer can purchase directly from there so I’m only out the time. However, if this moves into a more serious direction I don’t know if I should ask local printing companies to see if I can get a better deal. The other question i have has to do with payment. How much? When? How to go about all of this. Any information in this area would be greatly appreciated- send me a message if something needs to be explained further. Thanks a million!

Most corporations will have you sign a document stating that anything you design or invent while there is considered company property. Beware of this.
